Kaylee Elliott

My peers and I have worked with C.H.E.S.S. (Clean, Healthy, Educated, Safe, and Sustainable Cities), MCTS AA (The Mobile Country Training School Alumni Association), and the Africatown community over the past few years. Our projects included community health surveys, research and presentations based on identified concerns of the community, oral history archive interviewing, archiving and video editing, as well as independent research on the impact of industrial pollutants and sustainable community development. I have developed lasting relationships with the people in Africatown and I hope in my Master's work I will begin research offering possible solutions to some of the environmental challenges faced by the community.
